Adopt-a-Pet.com (formerly 1-800-Save-A-Pet.com) is a non-profit pet adoption charity that helps groups like VAGA to list available pets for free. They're all about getting pets into home and use the power of TV, the Internet and a toll-free phone number to connect adopters with pets.

Promoting the adoption of black greyhounds through their website dedicated to Black Greyhounds, which are sometimes hard to place simply because of their color. Too many people believe that a dog that is black is evil or their color indicates that the dog is vicious. Or perhaps black Greyhounds are harder to adopt than other colors because it is such a common color. Whatever the reason, many groups find it more difficult to find homes for their black dogs than any other color.

Dr. Campbell and her devoted staff of 88 animal loving individuals support the efforts of many local rescue groups, as well as specialty breeders and devoted pet owners. They have been treating greyhounds for many, many years and have been a huge supporter of VAGA since our inception. When our greyhounds arrive in Northern Virginia, Dr. Campbell always has room for them to stay until she can complete their medical work. Thank you for all that you do, Dr. Campbell!

Dogs are given exercise/playtime 6 to 7 times a day in large, grass exercise paddocks. Social dogs are turned out to play in supervised play groups with owner's permission and at kennel's discretion. There are no additional charges for these outings. Medications are administered at no charge as well and the facility is kept immaculate with daily disinfections! VAGA's dearest friend, Animal Communicator Diane Roadcap has dedicated her life to talking to animals. Diane's gift has helped many of our greyhounds and their families in a variety of situations and circumstances. She also graciously donates her time to work with many of our foster hounds to help VAGA place them in a suitable home.

A dog and cat food store on Ashburn Road in Old Ashburn, specializing in keeping a pet's diet as nature intended. From fresh meat to all-organic dry food, the store provides pet owners with the opportunity to buy natural foods and supplies for their dogs and cats.

Anne is a greyhound owner and VAGA volunteer. She makes coats, sleep shirts and jammies.

Since 1995, Greyhound Gang has evolved from a front-line rescue organization, to a fundraising one. They do special needs adoptions and through their web site they raise funds to rescue even more hounds.

Becky & John Redmond have been designing and making jewelry since 1973. They adopted their first greyhound in 1990. Since then they have adopted and shared their home & workplace with 10 retired racing greyhounds. Their adopted greyhounds continue to be an inspiration for their Greyhound jewelry and Rubber Stamp creations.

VAGA requires you to place an embroidered ID collar on your dog before you take him home. This collar should never be removed except to occasionally launder it. This collar is your greyhound's ticket home if he gets lost. It can also be a lifesaver if he is lost, injured, and requires medical attention from a county shelter. They will not treat an animal they can't identify and metal dog tags wear smooth in time and can't be read.
